Unsolicited manuscripts must be accompanied by a submission fee of $500 for authors who are current Journal of Financial Economics subscribers and $550 for non-subscribers. To encourage quicker response, referees are paid an honorarium out of the submission fee. There are no page charges. The submission fee is refunded on the last submission if the paper is accepted for publication in the JFE.

For non-subscribing authors who wish to subscribe to the Journal of Financial Economics, you can subscribe at the North-Holland web site. After submitting your subscription to Elsevier, send the subscriber fee of $500 with proof of subscription (a copy of the subscription order form) and your manuscript to the E-mail address of the Editorial Office. All submissions must be in the form of email attachments that are either Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF files. Further details are available here.

Payment may using Paypal. Alternatively, the submission fee can be paid by check made payable to the Journal of Financial Economics, but it must be drawn on a U.S. Bank and in U.S. currency.
